Lohan In Court On Time

Actress Lindsay Lohan arrived at the Airport Courthouse on Wednesday morning at 8:30 a.m., right on time for her scheduled appearance for a hearing on allegations that she stole a necklace from a Venice jewelry store.

Lohan arrived in a black SUV wearing ivory pants and a black blouse -- far more

conservative attire than the tight-white knit dress she wore for her last court appearance.
Authorities had lined police tape on either side of the courthouse's back door, creating a cordoned-off walkway for the actress. About 40 paparazzi stood ready by the concrete walkway and nine television trucks parked nearby. In the air, a chopper for KTLA followed Lohan's drive from the Venice home where she is living to the courthouse.

On the ninth floor outside Judge Keith L. Schwartz's courtroom, a satellite relay was set up to send a signal to the parking lot below.

The judge is expected to set a date for the preliminary hearing. It was unclear whether a deal was in the works for Lohan to avoid jail time or be sent back to rehab.

The necklace case is one of three piece of legal trouble for the star, who is still on probation in an earlier drunken driving case and is under investigation in Riverside County, Calif., for allegedly shoving a worker at the Betty Ford Center. Lohan posted $40,000 bail on the tgrand theft charge, and has not been jailed.
