A 19-year-old Hesperia woman thought it would be “funny” to bind her 2-year-old son in duct tape and text message a photo of him to an acquaintance didn’t get a laugh.
She was arrested on a misdemeanor charge of cruelty to a child.

Danyella Higgins, 19, told San Bernardino County sheriff’s deputies she was repairing a window when she was inspired to tape up her son’s arms, legs and mouth.

The recipient of the photo called authorities.

When they arrived at Higgins' home Tuesday, her son was in a playpen but still had sticky remnants of the tape on him. He was turned over to child welfare officials. Weportedly the baby was not injured.

His mother was taken to the Victor Valley Jail where she is being held without bail..
