Quaids Pay $500K Bail Head For Santa Barbara Court November 2.
Randy Quaid, 60, and Canadian wife Evi, 47, have each paid the $500,000 bail ordered by a Santa Barbara judge and now promise to return to a California court next Tuesday to face charges outstanding against them. Thursday they were rleased from a Canadian detention center where they hve been held.
The pair fled to Canada because wife Evi claimed they were being persecuted and in fear of what she calls “Star Whackers.” The Quaid's claim these so-called "star whackers" are responsible for the deaths of stars such as Heath Ledger and David Carradine. Respective investigations into these deaths showed no foul play was involved in either death.
The Quaid's have had several run-ins with authorities. They were charged with defrauding an innkeeper, burglary, and conspiracy in Montecito, California in September 2009 and they used an invalid credit card to pay the tab at the Biltmore, a Santa Barbara luxury resort.
