In the most recent bizarre chapter in the Quaids version of celebrity justice they did not show up in Santa Barbara court yesterday. No one thought they would since they are in Canadian custody pending the outcome of their request for asylum.

The story of the quirky couple has spread around the world since beginning as a weird local flap over their unpaid bill at the San Ysidro Ranch resort last year. That was resolved and then they were arrested for squatting in a Montecito home they once owned, and then fleeing to Canada.

Wife Evi contends “Star Whackers” are plotting to kill her husband Randy unless he is protected in Canada.

If they ever come back to Santa Barbara they now face a $500,000 bail because the court has run out of patience with the scofflaw pair.
