Gardener charged in machete murder: $3.05 Million Bail Set

A 25-year-old Lawndale gardener reportedly told a neighbor he was "probably gonna be going to jail" and then he hacked two of his roommates with a machete.

He was charged today with murder and attempted murder and was arraigned this afternoon at the Torrance courthouse.

One 23-year-old was hacked to death, and a 22-year-old was severely injured and remains hospitalized in critical condition.
The attacker faces single counts of murder, attempted murder and aggravated mayhem with the special allegations he used a deadly weapon and inflicted great bodily injury.

He is held on $3.05 million bail.

If convicted, he faces up to life in prison.
