Man Shot For Weed-Eater Assault Then Arrested Held On $100,000 Bail
A Barstow, Florida man is very particular about his lawn care views. And those seem to run afoul of the opinions held by his 68-year-old neighbor, They've had run-ins in the past, leaving the neighbor in fear for his safety.
It all came to a head the other day, when he decided to trim his hedges without asking his permission. When the 68-year-old when outside to confront he took along a handgun because of prior disputes. When the erstwhile gardener shoved a running weed-eater into his face he was shot several times.
Despite the gunshot wounds, the man was treated and released at a local hospital. Then adding insult to injury he was arrested for aggravated assault; booked into the Polk County jail, and held on $100,000 bail.
He tried to tell police that the shooting was unprovoked, but neighbors backed up the elderly man’s, believing the elderly man was truly threatened.
