No Bail Bond for Fugitive Rapist
A 26-year-old Santa Maria, California area man shattered an otherwise peaseful Friday leading Santa Maria police on a 100 mile per hour chase along city streets before his truck got bogged down in a field.
Police recognized the suspected felon and probation violator driving with a female passenger last Friday, and when he realized he was being followed fled at speed of 100 miles per hour. At one point he went into a field to let the woman out but then got bogged down and was apprehended without violence.
The man is accused of numerous crimes including: rape, criminal threats, brandishing a firearm, and had a no-bail probabtion warrant violation. The man is being held in the Santa Bbra County Jail on the numerous prior and now new charges. The woman was questioned and released.
