Third Time Is Not Charming.
A 54-year old Sarasota, FL man led police on a high-speed chase through a gated community golf club Saturday.
Witnesses say the guy drove his SUV on the green, breaking up a foursome and circling the clubhouse twice with cops in hot pursuit before he crashed into a row of shrubs.
The man was wanted on domestic violence charges and for violated his parole and he as trying to get away. This was the third pursuit he took police on in two days.
Police say they had pulled the man over on a secluded street Friday night, but he ran away. A short pursuit followed, but a supervisor ended it for safety reasons. When officers tried to arrest him again about an hour later, Alyan allegedly rammed two cop cars. But a supervisor again ended the chase for safety reasons.
Pursuit number three began at the man’s home Saturday morning, and ended on that golf course where nearly 150 people were gathered.
So it’s smart to end a police chase for “safety reasons” on a secluded road but not a crowded golf course?
In any case he is charged with a aggravated assault on a Law Enforcement Officer, Aggravated Battery on a Law Enforcement Officer and Aggravated Fleeing to Elude Capture. He is held without bail.
