A 62-year old man and 42-year old woman each face 863 counts of child neglect. One count for each night they forced the child to eat, sleep and go to the bathroom outside. The child now 16 has not be allowed inside the house for 8 years.

Neighbors said they had suspicions but, no one took action for 8-years.

The Department of Children and Families was called to the home in November on suspicion of family violence. DCF representatives said that when they went to the home, there was no indication that anyone had been sleeping outside.

Finally on Friday police talked to the daughter, she told them that the family had been sleeping in the car.

The pair are being held on $431,500 bond each. If released, they have been ordered to stay away from their daughter, who is in the custody of the Department of Children and Families.
