Second SEAL Exonerated.
A court martial has found a second Navy SEAL not guilty in the alleged abuse of a terror suspect. Specifically they were both charged with failing to protect him while in custody. The trial was in Iraq.
Neither of the two SEALS found innocent were accused of directly abusing the terror suspect.
A third trial will begin soon in Norfolk, Virginia. Petty officer McCabe is charged with striking the suspected terrorist.
Critics say the Navy Department is in error charging any of the men, and some suggest they should be decorated. Clearly the trials are designed to show Iraqis the fairness and impartiality of the U. S.
The terrorist has had two days in court and a military tribunal and jury did not find him credible. One of the exonerated SEALS said he saw McCade throw a punch at the suspect but his credibility is also in doubt.
Some are questioning if these prosecutions will mean fewer suspect survive capture.
