Mini-Epidemic Of Drunk Lawnmower Drivers, Etc.
A 40 year-old Blountville, TN joined men in New York, Missouri and elsewhere in a mini- epidemic of lawnmower driving drunk incidents. This man took it to an extreme driving the wrong way on a local public road, and then failing to stop for a police car with red lights, siren and loud speaker blaring. When he finally did pull over, he was charged with driving under the influence, driving on a revoked license and being a habitual offender. His blood alcohol content was .15 nearly twice the legal limit.
The guy employed the famous I had ”a few beers with dinner,” defense which never proves effective.

Most states, including Tennessee, can charge a person with DUI if they are operating any type of motor vehicle, including cars, lawnmowers, boats, motorcycles and in some places that includes horses and mules and even dog sleds.
These men join the ranks of those arrested for drunk driving of a motorized bar stool, chaise lounge, sofa, snow mobiles and even a Zamboni ice machine.
