A forty-one year old Santa Barbara woman is sentenced to six years in prison and 5-years as a registered sex offender for having an unlawful 6 year long sexual relationship with a local boy starting when he was just 13-years old. She was arrested last year when details of the case became known. The boy is now a 21-year old man.

The woman was arrested last year and initially plead not guilty and has been free on $100,000 bail. The case was resolved and sentence pronounced when she changed her plea to “no contest.”

The case has been at the center of a hotly contested race for District Attorney between its prosecutor and another member of that department.
