"One And You're Done" Child Predators and Sex Offenders Movement Spreading
In the past week the bodies of two teenage girls, 17-year-old Chelsea King of Poway, California, and 14-year-old Amber Dubois near San Diego , California were found.. John Albert Gardner III, a convicted sex offender, is charged with murdering King and sujspected in Dubios’ murder and being looked at in others.
The last week’s revelations shows how inept and ineffective California’s system for dealing with sex offenders and child predators is, including the likes of Gardner, and has shocked awake angry law abiding citizens worldwide. Even in arch-liberal California people are dislodged from their Blackberrys and blinking out of their haze to ask:
Why wasn’t a known, dangerous man who court psychiatrists warned would offend again locked away or at the least electronically monitored. Supposedly, Gardner was being monitored by the state Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation, which isn’t worth spit.
Associated Press learned that, in addition to other parole violations, Gardner violated his parole by moving near a school but was allowed to remain free. Had Gardner been returned to prison, he would have been evaluated for commitment to a state mental hospital as a sexually violent predator and qualified for wearing an electronic tracking device for the rest of his life.
Had that happen Chelsea King and Amber Dubois would be alive today,
If anything good can come of this horrific episode it should be that California’s system and those irresponsible within it should be given a dose or salts and purged. There are too many good people looking for jobs to tolerate such nincompoops sucking up scarce taxpayer dollars.
A “One and You’re Done” movement is gaining strength and has Legislators cowering under their desk as voters pound at the door.
