Jury Convicts Man In "Medical Marijuana" Case.

There was a touch of irony as troubled jurors called California’s medical marijuana laws “hazy.” After saying they were hopelessly deadlocked and ordered back into deliberations by the judge a Sacramento jury Tuesday convicted a man of felony transportation for attempting to tote 3 pounds of pot through Sacramento International Airport.

The 34-year old man was found innocent of possession of marijuana for sale but guilty of possession, a misdemeanor.

The man had a pot prescription from a Mendocino County’s alternative medi-spa saying he could possess up to 5 pounds of pot and 25 plants. California law simply says you can have enough for personal use.

He testified he was taking the marijuana to New Orleans so that his ex-wife and another “master chef” could meld it into food products for his personal use.

He had been free in lieu of $100,000 bail, but, was taken into custody. Sentencing is set for April 8.

Amid reports of children as young as 11 years old getting pot prescriptions medical marijuana is tearing at California communities as pot dispensaries have proliferated bringing crime and disrepute into their neighborhoods and sending City Councils and Commissioners scrambling. In LA one report said there are more pot shops than Starbucks.
