HUSTLER Wants Photos of Nude, Dismembered Body of Murdered Woman.

Calling a Hustler magazine reporter’s request for photographs of the decapitated, nude body of a 24-year old murder victim “sickening, disgusting, vile and very, very hurtful for this family” a Georgia legislator joined the court’s opinion and refusal to grant the request. The Georgia Bureau of Investigation promptly denied Hustler's request.

Exactly why or what use the notoriously ribald and sometimes offensive men’s magazine has in mind for the photo’s of Meredith Emerson who was murdered, dismembered and buried in 2008 is unclear.

Meredith’s murderer is serving a life sentence for his crime after plea bargaining for his life by showing authorities where the dismembered body was.

The lawsuit is still open. The State of Georgia is working on a law forbidding the release of such photographs and has attracted observers, 1st Amendment advocates and the morbid.
