A 24-year old Santa Barbara woman will be charged with murder today in he death of her new born 6-pound baby found in a Redondo Beach dumpster. The woman apparently gave birth while at a party in her hometown, dropped the new born into the trash bin. Medical test are not yet available and it is not now known if the child was still born or died after it was abandoned in the 64 gallon trash container. The body of the naked infant was found the next morning by city garbage collectors.

The woman will be charged, enter a plea, and a bail amount will all likely be the subject of this afternoon’s hearing.
