Volunteers and police investigators in San Diego continue their search for a 17-year old girl missing since Thursday.

Authorities arrested John Albert Gardner III, 30, a registered sex offender, Sunday afternoon in Escondido, California. The Sheriff’s Department said evidence pointed to him as "possibly involved" in the disappearance.

Gerdner is incarcerated in County jail and no bail amount has been set. The County Sheriff said physical evidence links Gardner to the disappearance. Reportedly Gardner is not being cooperative.
