A 50-year old San Diego man who choked a 10-week old Labrador puppy to death after it nipped his girl friend’s nose has been charged with animal cruelty.

Bail was set and posted at $35,000.

He is awaiting trial and if convicted faces 3-years in prison and a $20,000 fine.
Authorities said the woman’s nose has a “minor scratched.”
