Looney-Toon Past of U of A Huntsville Killer

College professor Amy Bishop is charged with capital murder in Friday's shooting of three faculty members at the University of Alabama at Huntsville. Since the shooting, new details have emerged surrounding the former Massachusetts resident's past erratic behavior including:

Authorities said Bishop fatally shot her brother Seth in Braintree , Mass in 1986 and was not charged after state prosecutors concluded that it was accidental. Now newly found police reports say that prosecutors had probable cause to charge Bishop with assault after she fatally shot her brother. In 1986, now Congressman William Delahunt was the Norfolk County district attorney, and decided not to pursue charges against Bishop. He’s on a junket now and has not been contacted or commented.

What happened 1986 is again at issue and the murder investigation has been reopened.
On the day she shot her brother in 1986, Bishop left her home and burst into a car dealership, pointing a shotgun at employees One menaced man recalled that Bishop said she had had a fight with her husband and he was going to come after her, so she needed a getaway car. Braintree police briefly questioned the man but then never contacted him again, and apparently Bishop was not prosecuted.

In 1993 Bishop was a suspect in the attempted mail bombing of a Harvard Medical School professor .

In March 2002, Bishop visited a Peabody International House of Pancakes with her family, asked for a booster seat for one of her children, and learned the last seat had gone to another mother. Bishop, according to a police report, strode over to the other woman, demanded the seat and launched into a profanity-laced rant.

Her husband says she was upset because she did not get tenure of at U of A-H.
Exactly why this was overlooked when she was hired at Huntsville raises profound questions. But, three people are dead.
