In one of the more bizarre local incidents a naked man believed to have been under the influence of crack cocaine who was reported to have been masturbating in front of a school was captured. When approached by Santa Barbara Police he fled in a car. A pursuit ensued ending when he twice rammed a police cruiser apparently in an effort to escape. He was arrested and jailed. No one was seriously injured but his car and the police cruiser were severely damaged The case has not been resolved by the court.
