Did you know, that bail in the US has roots in English law dating all the way back to the Magna Carta?
This English document touted revelries of individual freedoms from its inception. The old adage, “Power tends to corrupt, and absolute power corrupts absolutely” is a quote from a British Historian, Lord Acton, that applies to this Great Charter, in so much as, the power held by the Kings of England were put in check with the creation of this charter.
